Balfour Beatty and Radiant Cleaners: life-changing construction cleaning in Nottingham

If you're local to Nottingham, you might have seen the news about the new Waterside footbridge over the River Trent. What you might not have heard is the social value it generated in the local community.

1,000 hours of work for Living Wage cleaners in Nottingham

We were privileged to partner with Balfour Beatty, cleaning the cabins on their Waterside Bridge site. This partnership created 1,000 hours of real Living Wage work for one of our team members who faced major barriers to work. That’s a 20 hour part-time role providing financial stability, access to support and mentoring, and the opportunity for sustainable life-change, for over a year.

In total, the Waterside Bridge development generated £6.7m in social value, £5.5m of it spent with local businesses.

Construction cleaning across Nottingham

Radiant Cleaners is Nottingham's life-changing cleaning company, creating meaningful and supportive jobs for people with major barriers to work. We currently employ 27 cleaners who work across construction sites, offices and community spaces in the Nottingham area. 

Speaking on BBC Radio Nottingham, our Head of Operations Connie Pringle said: "We've been really excited to work on this project. It's really significant for the local area and it's really significant for our team members as well."
