Why our social enterprise model works

At Radiant Cleaners, we deliver high-quality and professional cleaning for a range of partners across Nottinghamshire. Alongside this, we challenge industry norms by paying a real living wage, and providing supportive employment for individuals who face significant barriers to work.

We believe a person-centred approach, both towards our employees and our customers, is the best way to achieve a consistent and exceptional standard of service.

A premium cleaning service

We offer cleaning contracts tailored to your work area. This is accompanied by clear communication, flexibility, and high-quality service to ensure a seamless experience.

A fully managed service

We do a site visit before any cleaning contract begins, to answer key questions:

  • What are your requirements and priorities?

  • How many times a week would you like us to visit?

  • How long do shifts need to be?

  • What time is best to access the site?

  • What scheduling is required for holiday periods?

We will then assign a cleaning team to your site. This ensures you know who are the cleaners on your premises. All our cleaners undergo COSHH and health and safety training, and will work a trial cleaning shift out our offices to get hands-on experience where needed.

An operations team member will accompany our cleaners on the first visit so any introductions can be made, questions can be answered, and to confirm you're fully satisfied with the contract.

We arrange shifts four weeks in advance to ensure there is limited disruption when our cleaners are on annual leave. We can also accommodate deep cleans or extra shifts where needed.

Quality assurance

We have a commitment to continuous improvement and solicit regular customer feedback. Our Operations Manager, Connie, will be your main point of contact throughout your customer journey.

Connie brings a wealth of customer service experience to her managerial role.

Connie will check in and collect feedback on our services. This will then be fed back to our employees in their 6-month performance reviews, and extra training and support will be provided where needed.

Provision of materials and on-call support

We can provide cleaning materials for your site, or supply a list of suggested materials if this is preferable. We will supply onsite COSHH information and a bespoke checklist for our cleaners, dictated by your preferences and priorities.

We also have an on-call number for both our employees and our customers. This ensures that any unexpected absences can be covered, and any issues resolved swiftly. We hope this gives you peace of mind as you partner with us.

Why a social enterprise - the value of ethical cleaning

Our service not only excels in high-quality cleaning, but also in the way we treat our employees.

Radiant Cleaners equips and empowers individuals who face multiple and/or significant barriers to employment. People can face a variety of challenges to accessing the workplace, including but not limited to:

  • Experiencing mental and physical health challenges.

  • Being neurodivergent in neurotypical workspaces.

  • Having refugee status.

  • Experience of domestic abuse.

  • Experience of substance misuse.

  • Experience of the criminal justice system.

  • Being at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

Potential unemployment caused by these barriers can impact other areas of these individuals’ lives. This can exacerbate the challenge of sustaining employment, creating a vicious cycle which is hard to break free from.

Radiant Cleaners breaks this cycle. As an ethical cleaning company based in Nottingham, we provide our employees with a real living wage and regular work hours. We also have empathy driven HR practices, holistic support through our bespoke Living Life Index, and an opt-in mentoring scheme throughout the employees' period of employment.

Over the course of the year, we host socials for our team, and we gift celebratory tokens at significant milestones in our employees' lives.

A person-centred approach: The impact on our employees

An ethical cleaning model results in happy employees.
Providing stable and secure employment can be life-changing.

We believe that holistic wellbeing both in and out of the workplace is paramount to having content employees who want to work for us. But don't just take our word for it! Read some of the testimonials from our employees below.

"Working in a team on a big contract and things really began to change for me.  I was able to pay my bills and reduce the arrears and start to pay off the debts (I am now debt-free).”  - Karen

“I hate to think what my life would have been like for the last two years without this job! It's not about the money or the hours. When someone asks me "What do you do?” I can say "I work, I'm a cleaner" instead of having nothing to say." - Dean*
